Herbert Martens
October 30, 1942 - November 14, 2017
With family by his side, Herb found everlasting peace on Tuesday.
Left to mourn his passing are his faithful and loving wife Jillian, and his children Timothy and Elisa (Steven). His grandchildren Kristen (Matthias), Karlie (Jeremy), Haley, Skylar, and Zander; along with his many friends will cherish his memory.
Herb came to Canada with his mom, Elisabeth Martens, when he was 6. He touched many lives throughout his life; from his school days, time in the Airforce, working casinos, magic, curling, golf, the Dairymaid breakfast club – solving all the world’s problems, as well as all those he met while couriering around the city.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care and compassion, going above and beyond during this difficult time.
A celebration of Herb’s life will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Garden Park Baptist Church, 1825 Inkster Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
He may have left this world, but he will live on forever in our hearts.
