Sigrid Bjarnason

I have many fond memories of Lee from the time I was a child growing up in Vancouver. He spent a lot of time at our house when he was a bachelor and we (my sister Karen and brother Stefan and I) used to love goofing around with him in our backyard. He was gentle, patient, and a lot of fun. There was a strong connection with the Eyolfsons and Bjarnasons years ago. Our father Erling started working in Lee's father Arne's drugstore in Wynyard Saskatchewan during the depression and as a result our father became a pharmacist too. I think that original connection meant any Eyolfson was very welcome at our house. Once Lee got married and started having children we didn't see him as often and I haven't seen him for many years but I have always had a soft spot for him and I remember his parents as well. My brother Stefan recalls cracking his head on Arne and Vera's staircase during a visit with them in fact, and he particularly remembers Arne trying to cheer him up while the doctor stitched up the resulting cut. I just wanted to share some brief memories and I would like to extend my condolences to the Eyolfson family on behalf of the Bjarnasons.
