JOSEFINA DELOS REYES GONZALES
September 9, 1942 – June 13, 2016
Josefina passed away in her Canadian residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Monday, June 13th, at the age of 73. Fondly known as Jessie to her friends, she lived a fun and fruitful life with a genuine smile always on her face. She joined the Lord with a clean heart and a clean soul, putting God first all her life.
Words are not enough to describe Jessie as a well-loved person, a faithful wife to her husband Rudy, a loving mommy to her daughters Racquel, Rose, Joy, and Jasmin, a thoughtful nanay to her eight apo’s and four great grandchildren, and a dependable sister to her five siblings. Jessie has countless friends here in Winnipeg and especially back home in the Philippines, who will cherish her memories with her golden heart and laughter. Her words of wisdom to her pamangkin’s, kumare’s and kumpare’s make her an inspiration to all those whom she had left behind but who will always keep her in their hearts. From her humble beginnings as a working mother, to becoming known as Doctora to the people around her, and to her blossoming into a social butterfly, she will always be remembered as Jessie.
Our gratitude goes to her multiple doctors both here and in the Philippines, who had tirelessly looked after her health and well being. Regardless of her condition, she always presented a healthy and dynamic self, and even cracked jokes and performed her classic antics. Jessie had never shown any despair with her emotions, even during her final moments.
The viewing in honor of Jessie is going to be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM to receive her friends and family to send her last moments at Mosaic Funeral, Cremation and Cemetery Services at 1839 Inkster Boulevard. Her body will then be sent to the Philippines for her wake and burial.
