Obituary for Luigi Del Grosso

In Loving Memory of Luigi Del Grosso

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Luigi Del Grosso, who left us on March 25th, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Pescina, Italy on February 7th, 1935, Luigi moved to Winnipeg in 1959 where he built a life filled with love and cherished memories. On May 10, 1962, he married his wife Concettina (Tina), sharing 62 years of unwavering devotion and companionship.

Luigi embraced his new life in Winnipeg, working at Motor Coach on an assembly line until his retirement in 1983. Retirement afforded him the opportunity to indulge his passion for travel exploring destinations such as Mexico, Italy, Cuba and the United States with his wife by his side.

Luigi found joy in the simple pleasures of life from singing and listening to music, to strumming the ukulele and playing bingo. He also enjoyed bowling with friends and cherished spending time outdoors on beautiful days with his wife, Tina.

Luigi will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Concettina (Tina), son Franco, grandchildren Lucas and Juliana, brother Fernando (Ida), sister Concetta Bucci (Antonio), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Luigi is reunited with his parents Giuseppe and Giuseppina, siblings Palmerio, Filippo, Leride, and Annina.

A service to honour Luigi's life will be held on April 4th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway. Join us as we honour his memory and bid him farewell.

Luigi will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

A huge thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Riverview Health Care Centre for their compassionate care and support.
