August 9, 1935 – November 14, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather.
Luis was predeceased by his parents, Ricardo and Juana, as well as his sisters, Francisca and Antonia, and his brother, Juan.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years, Mayte; his children; Connie (Roger) and Richard (Maya); grandchildren; Danielle, Taira, Ricardo, Luis, and Ryder; his brother in-law Frank (who Luis and Mayte brought to Canada to live with them) and nephew Kevin. Also leaving to mourn his sisters, Aurora and MariCarmen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Spain.
In his early teens, Luis learned the cabinet making trade which he was passionate about and continued until his retirement. He took a break for a few years to pursue his other passion of bullfighting. It was during his travels around Spain that he met the love of his life. They came to Canada to get married and begin their family.
He was fortunate to spend many winters back in Spain and we are grateful to have gotten him there one last time earlier this year.
Luis was a wonderful father and hard worker who always saw the positive side of things. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren.
Dad, we love you and will miss you deeply. You are forever in our hearts.
