It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Encarnacion “Cionnie” Tabion at the age of 82 years old.

Cionnie was pre-deceased by her parents Anselmo and Felisia Estacion as well as her son Edwin who passed at the age of 1.

She is survived by her children Teresita Linda “Lian” (Alberto), Alfon (Elsa), Maria Divina (Abraham), Jocelyn (Joselito), Maria Dolores “Juvy” (Rene), Arnold, Connie (Paul), and Julius “Jojo”; grandchildren Alvin, Arlene, Arlene, Ronald, Ritchie, Richelle, Arnold, Abegail, Marvin, Mary Grace, Mary Jane, Jarred, John Neil, John Patrick, Renell, Jenner, Angela, Michael, Gabriel, Anthony, and Kimberly; great-grandchildren Allyson Raine, Ricca Angela, Richmond Angelo, Dency Joy, Lily, Yohan; her sisters in Edmonton and the Philippines, and many nieces and nephews.

Cionnie was born in Naguilian, Philippines in 1941. She left the Philippines in 1970 to work as a caregiver in Hong Kong in order to support her family. In 1980, she moved to what would be her new home in Winnipeg, Canada. Here, she continued to work as a health care aid until her retirement.

We are thankful for the gift of her beautiful life and the many God-given years of wisdom and love that Cionnie was able to share with her family and friends. We are especially thankful to the staff at Health Sciences Centre who gave our Nanay the best possible comfort and care during her final hours.

Lamay will be held on Friday, February 3rd at Mosaic Funeral Home from 6pm-12am. Mass of the Resurrection will follow on Saturday, February 4th at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by cremation. Interment will follow at a later date where Cionnie will be laid to rest alongside her parents in the Philippines.
