Eleanor Louise Cole passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2023, at Oakview Place Care Home in Winnipeg, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 92, the first of four children born to George and Audrey Olafson in Brandon, Manitoba. In 1947 she married the love of her life, Charles Cole, and together they spent over 62 two years enjoying a side-by-side partnership unlike any other.

Baptized at the age of 10 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the conviction and faith she built at that time guided her through her entire life. Charlie and Eleanor raised four children, Linda (Clint) Hinkle, Wayne (Shawna) Cole, Cynthia (Gerald) Mouser, and Terrence (Cindy) Cole. Eleanor worked hard to instill in each of them that same faith in God and loyalty to principle. She had a special gift of making each one feel valued and loved, whether that be her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings, and parents.

She was a woman of many talents and an excellent hostess. After raising her children, in her mid-40’s she entered the workforce as a bookkeeper and office manager.

She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
