By using this Website, you signify your acknowledgment and agreement to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, DO NOT use this Website (as defined herein).

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Book Of Memories websites (the "Website") and other services (collectively the "Services"). FrontRunner Professional ("Company," "we," "us," "our") reserves the right in our sole discretion to change, amend or modify (the "changes") all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time and from time to time for any reason. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be noted by indicating the date these Terms and Conditions were last made. Any changes will become effective no earlier than fourteen (14) days after they are posted; provided, however, that changes addressing new functions of the Services or changes made for legal reasons will be effective immediately. Your use or continued use of the Services after the date any such changes become effective shall constitute your express acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as changed, amended or modified.

Eligibility: Users under 18 years of age are not eligible to use the Services without consent. Users between the ages of 13 and 17, can use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age; provided, however, that such parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and agrees to be responsible for such use of the Services. Company reserves the right to refuse use of the Services to anyone and to reject, cancel, interrupt, remove or suspend any Campaign, Donation, or the Services at any time for any reason without liability.

Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions "Campaign Organizers" means those raising funds, and "Campaigns" as their fundraising campaigns. Additionally, "Donors" means those contributing funds, and "Donations" as the funds they contribute. Campaign Organizers, Donors and other visitors to the Services are referred to collectively as "Users". The term "Campaign Organizers" shall also be deemed to include any individual(s) designated as a beneficiary of Campaigns.

Services: The Services are offered as a platform (the "Platform") to Users of the Services. Among other features, the Services are designed to allow Campaign Organizers to post Campaigns to the Platform to accept Donations from Donors. Although there are no fees to set up Campaigns, a portion of each Donation will be charged as fees for our Services and those of our third party payment processors. Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services with or without notice. You agree that Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance thereof. The Company has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data or other content maintained or uploaded by the Services. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Services may work with all carriers or devices. By using the Services, you agree that we may communicate with you regarding Company and other entities by SMS, MMS, text message or other electronic means to your mobile device and that certain information about use of the Services may be communicated to us.

Charitable Giving: Campaigns are not charities to which you can make tax-deductible charitable contributions. Any Donation you make through the Platform may be processed by an unaffiliated business partner for which a processing fee (in addition to our FrontRunner Professional Fee) is deducted. You understand, acknowledge and agree that Company is not a charity, and Company does not solicit charitable donations for itself or for any third-party charitable institution. Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations.

All Donations are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion and risk of Donors. Company does not guarantee that Donations will be used as promised. Company does not endorse, guarantee, make representations, or provide warranties for or about the quality, safety, or legality of any Campaign. Donors agree to promptly update account information with any changes that may occur and to pay the Donation amount that you specify. Donors hereby authorize Company to bill Donors' credit cards and payment methods in advance on a periodic basis until Donors terminate periodic payments through the Platform.

Fees: Company does not charge Campaign Organizers any upfront fees for Campaigns. Company retains a portion of each Donation contributed to Campaigns in the amount of four percent (4%) ("FrontRunner Professional Fee"). A portion of the Donation is payable to our third party payment processors ("Processing Fee"). All Tribute Pay Fees and Processing Fees ("Fees") are deducted directly from each Donation and are not reflected in the amount which Campaign Organizers can withdraw from the Campaign. We reserve the right to change any of the Fees from time to time. If we change any of the Fees, we will provide notice of the change on the Website or otherwise, at our option, at least fourteen (14) days before the change is to take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the change in any of the Fees becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Fees.

To the extent you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine

DISPUTE RESOLUTION - ARBITRATION (READ CAREFULLY): You agree to arbitrate all disputes and claims between you and Company (including our respective subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, employees, predecessors in interest, successors, and assigns). Regardless of the manner in which the arbitration is conducted, the arbitrator shall issue a reasoned written decision sufficient to explain the essential findings and conclusions on which the award is based. YOU AND COMPANY AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Unless both you and Company agree otherwise in writing, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding. Obituary for Donald Brian Krentz

Please share your favorite memory of Donald to be included in a special keepsake book for the family.
Donald Brian Krentz
March 24, 1949 - December 16, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that the heart of our family has finished filling in the “dash” of his earthly life. Don lived, loved, and spent his lifetime committed to family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life for over 52 years, Barb; their children-Jennifer (Jeff), Melanie (Doug), Matthew (Krista), along with his grandchildren, Sydney, Charlie, Kaylee, Zoe, Peyton, Wyatt, Avery, Carter, and Easton. He is also survived by his brothers; Ralph, Ken (Brenda), and Dale. His sisters-in-law, Jean (Al), Sharon (Herm), Mavis, and Ilse and his mother-in-law Erna Hein. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews who absolutely loved their Uncle Don. Don was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Lena Krentz, his brother Reg, his nephew Terry and his father-in-law William Hein.

Don was born in Steinbach, Manitoba, the second of five sons to Roy and Lena Krentz. The core of the man he would become was taught in their home. He had an abiding love and respect for family, hard work, a faith in God, and a zest for life. He inherited a love of flowers and plants from his mom-they had a secret ingredient in their green thumbs that was never shared with others. The family farm door was always open for visitors and Don continued that tradition in his own home where everyone was welcome.

To describe Don as a handyman would be a massive understatement. He was a part time repairman, a service man, a renovator, a plumber, an electrician, a do-it yourselfer, a craftsman, a home decorator, a home builder, and a cottage builder-there was no end to his talents. He was a man of few words, a man of action, a true renaissance man. He was well rounded, gifted, and skilled in many fields. He was always productive. As strong as his work ethic was, he had a stronger “let’s enjoy life” ethic. He sang, he danced, he liked his music loud.

Don was a lover of everything Christmas! He and Barb opened their home every Christmas to the entire Krentz family, along with a few extras. Fresh greenery adorned every doorway throughout the house. The sounds of the crackling fire, the smell of a home brew concoction being heated on the stove, and heartfelt laughter filled the room at every winter gathering. Don loved to entertain-his storytelling abilities were unmatched. He owned the room when he would emcee an event. His sense of timing was impeccable.

Don could always envision whatever his building project was-no blueprints for him-he saw the end product in his mind’s eye and made it happen. This was so apparent in the family cottage that he and Matt built for their family. The cottage is the legacy he wanted to leave his family. It was his happy place, his oasis, the place where he went to listen to the loons and the sound of laughter from his grandchildren as they learned to swim, waterski, and build memories with their cousins-that was very important to Don because, as a child, he relished the time he spent with his own cousins in Steinbach. These past 4 years while Don was ill, the cottage soothed and refueled him. No matter how tired or weak he may have been, he was always willing to take a trip to the cottage, so he could sit on the deck overlooking the waters of Echo Bay.

Don was the ultimate hockey fan. He played hockey, his children and grandchildren play hockey, and he would not miss a game. He supported Jennifer, Melanie, and Matthew through many years of ice sports as a parent and a coach. Even more thrilling was being able to watch his grandchildren excel in sport. He was a great supporter of community club sports, and many friendships were formed through the years. If you know Don, it is probably through community involvement in Charleswood.

Along with his brother Reg, Don owned Golden Plains Agro. in Brunkild, Manitoba. Their stellar reputation in the business world was well known. Don worked long hours in those years building their business. Through his stories we all got to know his farming customers. He valued each person that walked through their doors. After his brother’s untimely death Don kept the business going for a few years. It was in 2001 that Don decided to follow in his father’s footsteps as a carpenter and start a new venture with his son Matt as his business partner. Together they formed Golden Plains Envirodome and Shelters. Don and Matt worked, laughed, and played side by side for many years and together built a prosperous business.

Don was a good man who was loved and respected by all. He was so proud of the family that he and Barb built. His last words were “I Love You” to his precious Barb. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He would want each of us to hold our families close, raise a glass, and two step around the dance floor. His light and love will be missed by all of those who had the honour of knowing him.

The family would like to thank the incredible doctors and nurses at Cancer Care Manitoba and the Grace Hospital ICU, especially Dr. Emily Rimmer, Lindsey, Alexis, and Marie. Their care and guidance over the last four years has been remarkable. The family would also like to acknowledge the outpouring of love and kindness bestowed upon us in the days since Don’s passing. Even in our most troubled times our hearts were full.

“In the end, it all comes down to this; I thought I had more time to love you” Blake Aiden

Kayla Dupont

Dear Auntie Barb, Jen & Jeff, Mel & Doug and Matt & Krista

I have found myself reflecting on my memories of Uncle Don on numerous occasions in the past number of weeks. I find it so interesting how we carry memories of people we love in the strangest ways - how sometimes the smallest of things can remind us of a person. It leads me to think that the person each of us is, is really the sum of so many of the people in our lives. That the people we love are entwined into us and we carry them within - sometimes in even the smallest memories. I wanted to share with you some of the memories that I carry with me of Uncle Don.

When I think of my childhood Christmases, the location most associated with Christmas is Uncle Don and Auntie Barb’s house. My memories include large bowls of chocolate treats being scattered throughout different areas of their home. You could find a delicious chocolate to unwrap on the bottom shelf of the living room coffee table, only to find another one on the drink table in the sun room or another tasty treat in the front family room. I remember all the house decor transforming into Christmas decor for the holidays. As an adult now, I can appreciate the time this would take - swapping out so many decor pieces for all the Christmas stuff that came out in December. There was often a fire going in the fireplace, the sun room was always a cooler reprieve when the house got too warm from the fire. World Junior hockey highlights were on the tv and Uncle Don would pass around some hot toddies before the night was over.

There is one Christmas in particular where I have a clear memory of Uncle Don reading aloud the story of Grandma Krentz’s childhood Christmas memories. We were in the front family room, having just finished Christmas dinner. He didn’t introduce the passage before he started reading, but rather just began.Grandma was still alive at the time and as he read, you could see her begin to connect with the memories that he was reading about. Uncle Don smiled as her memories of her childhood came alive. I remember her interrupting him to add in additional details about what he was reading - only to have him continue reading and then read the exact same details that she had just shared. We all laughed at Grandma’s wit and Grandma appreciated the memories he was reading about. Uncle Don appreciated the laugher and joy.

When I remember Grandma Krentz, it often reminds me of Uncle Don. Uncle Don reminds me of many of the traits of Grandma. I always think of Uncle Don as the most sociable Krentz. I think of how much he loved to gather people together - be it at the cabin or at Christmas. Thinking of his laugh reminds me of his mom’s laugh. Uncle Don had a warmth about him that I think he inherited from her.

Another Christmas memory of Uncle Don was the first Christmas following Grandma’s passing. Again it was after Christmas dinner and Uncle Don pulled out a big box of crystal hummingbird ornaments. He handed out the ornaments to everyone at

Christmas. I remember asking Auntie Barb about all the ornaments he was handing out and what would have motivated him to buy so so many ornaments. She explained how the ornaments were being sold to raise money for a local charity (and Uncle Don would have liked supporting the charity) and that they were also a way for us to remember Grandma. These 2 reasons were enough to have him probably buy the store out of their stock, as he bought enough for anyone and everyone to have. Each year I put that ornament on our tree. It’s special to me because it reminds me of Grandma and also the memory of Uncle Don buying so many of the same ornament and passing them out so generously.

Mario shared with me his strongest memory of Uncle Don. It was when we had been out at the cabin and a huge storm was rolling in. Uncle Don was standing out on the deck and was looking out at the lake and the sky was going dark. A huge gust of wind came out of nowhere and the wind caused the BBQ to be pushed along the deck, “That’s the bull wind,” he said. He explained how it is the first big wind that leads the storm in. Mario loved this term and had never heard of a bull wind before. Years later, Mario was tent camping with some buddies in the bush, only to find themselves holding their tent down as a storm rolled in. As the first gusts of wind brought the storm in Mario tells his friends, “That’s the bull wind”. The guys loved it.

When Uncle Dale graduated from depot as a RCMP officer, there were many of us who went out to Regina for the ceremony. Uncle Don and Auntie Barb came and we were able to spend time together for the weekend. The one morning we went out for breakfast together. I remember Uncle Don ordering his breakfast when the waitress came. He asked for a pretty traditional eggs and toast breakfast. But when he ordered his eggs, I remember him asking for sliced tomatoes with his eggs. I don’t know if this was a daily staple of Uncle Don’s, but it was the first time I had ever heard of tomato slices and eggs and have since always associated these two foods with Uncle Don ever since. I remember thinking that it was a strange combination. I have since come to very much appreciate eggs and fresh tomatoes, all credit to Uncle Don and whenever I make myself a plate I think of him.

Other things that remind me of Uncle Don

- black licorice Christmas candies

- playing in the bush on the large rocks behind their trailer at Luther Village

- a pink Luther Village sweatshirt that Uncle Don and Auntie Barb gave me as a child

- my collection of Godchild Christmas ornaments

- thinly rolled pie dough

- supersized cabbage rolls

- Napoleon cake

Uncle Don was a very special person. He lives on in so many people, in so many ways. And though these memories of Uncle Don may be small, the meaning is big and important. Uncle Don’s life was big and important and remembered in so many big and small ways.

Much love,

Peyton Jones

Hi, my name is Peyton, and It has been almost 1 month since the passing of my grandpa, Don Krentz. It's much easier to live in denial than to accept the reality of him being gone. I think that, no matter how many Krentz dance parties we have still to come, I will always be looking around the room, trying to find Papa showing off his amazing moves or starting another Congo line like the one he did on his and grandmas 50th anniversary.

I think that, no matter how many sports events I go to or participate in, I will always be thinking of Papa. Grandpa loved sports. Anytime you didn't know where he had gone, the first place to check was always his special chair, in front of the TV. You were always able to count on him being your number 1 fan in the stands. Whether it was for a gold medal game, or a scrimmage with friends, he was always there. Not only did he love watching us play sports, he also loved showing us that anything we could do, he could do better. I remember one evening, Grandma and Grandpa had come to our house, and, as per usual, my sister Avery and I were showing some of our cool gymnastics tricks. Then, out of nowhere, Grandpa goes “I could do that”. We all laughed, assuming he was joking. But he wasn't. He got up off the couch, went onto the carpet, and whipped out a Teddy Bear stand! 60 years old and he still had it in him! I think it's safe to say not a single person in that room would have expected him to do one so nicely.

That being said, as hard as these past 30 days without him have been, trying to adjust to this new way of living, I think it will be hardest when summer rolls around. The cabin was Grandpa’s happy place. He loved sitting on the deck, listening to the laughter of the kids echo off the calm, blue water. He loved having all the people he cared about together, able

to share one big home all summer long and make thousands of memories. And most of all, he loved absolutely killing us on the tube. When it came to tube rides, there was no mercy with Don Krentz. It didn't matter how many times he already flipped you into the water, he was always going to do it one more time just to show you who was really in charge.

Another one of our favourite things, was how Papa could fix anything. You would bring up a cool construction piece to add to the cabin, and he would have it built by the morning. You could be lost on how to fix something, and he would know how to before you even finished asking the question. I will always remember the story my dad told me of him and grandpa talking about how it would be nice to have some easier way of transporting our luggage from the boat to the cabin. The next week we had gone back out to the cabin, and grandpa had a full transportation system built. It was insane!

Papa had a very special place in all of our hearts. He taught us so many valuable lessons, like the importance of keeping your family close, and to work hard no matter what. And the wink I received from Papa when visiting him in the hospital on his last days here will be a memory I will never forget because, my grandpa, Don Krentz, was a man who was loved by all and will never be forgotten.
