Obituary for Arthur Oscar Bucasas Mariano

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved King, Arthur Oscar Bucasas Mariano on November 22nd 2022 at the age of 71 years old with his family by his side. He leaves behind the love of his life his wife of over 46 years Potenciana (Siony) de Jesus Mariano. He was a great provider and devoted husband working for Motor Coach Industries for over 43 years. He was an amazing role model to his five children: Arnolpo Sherwin, Rose Sharon, Emily Sandra, Arthur Scott and Isiah Shaq. He was a proud “Papa” to his grandchildren J.P. , Dom, Jade, Isaiah, Cassie, Chloe, King and Kairo.
Born in Luna, Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines he was the youngest son of Rosendo and Cristina Mariano. Siblings Amado, Remy, Artemio, Norberto, Rodolfo, Nieves, Boy and many family members residing in the Philippines, Canada and United States of America.

Our King, Arthur was known to many for his hardworking and devoted mindset. He was the first person you’d call for help and the first person to make you laugh as soon as he entered the room. He always valued family, friends, his coworkers and never turned down a great party. He always made friends with anyone he came across because of his sense of humour and very contagious personality. He passed along these traits to his children and grandchildren whom he deeply cared for and cherished. His nurturing side became immediately visible when he came home every night to his fur babies Destiny and Yoshi. We will miss you our King, our best friend, our Dad, our helper and our supporter. We will try to turn these sad tears into happy tears someday remembering how lucky and blessed we all are to have been In the presence of you. We love and miss you each day but we find comfort knowing you’re up there dancing, singing and playing slots in Heaven with the people that left this Earth too. Thank you for teaching us to live, laugh and most importantly love unconditionally. Thank you for showing us how to fight in what we believe in. You fought till the end and put on a better fight than Manny Pacquiao during his prime days just to give us more time with you. As Mom would say, you gave us 22 bonus days. We’re really sorry that we wanted you to stay in our arms but we know God was calling you home to Heaven. We’ll never forget your laugh, your smile, your style that we adored, as well as your entertaining and courageous attitude. Someone once said the pain never gets lighter of losing someone you love, you just have to learn how to carry it around. Thank you for the many memories we’ll hold close to our hearts. Forever missing and loving you.

The family would like to thank The Emergency Staff and GH4 at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg for their dedicated care and compassion towards Arthur.
