Obituary for Joao Carlos Do Rego Pereira

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and
grandfather Joao Carlos do Rego Pereira, born in Sao Miguel, Azores on April 25th 1949. Leaving to cherish his memory, his wife Isabel Pereira of 48 years, sons, Joao Paulo (Elizabeth), Bruno Miguel (Priscilla) and his granddaughter Sofia (his “Periquita”), sister Luisa (Enrique) in Sao Miguel, Sister in laws, Lucia (Rodolfo) in Sao Miguel, Magarida , (Durval -deceased) – in Sao Miguel, Leonor (Luis-Deceased)in Sao Miguel, brother in law Joao (Fatima) – in Sao Miguel, Humberto (Dina), Fatima (Jose), extensive cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Winnipeg and Azores.

He was predeceased by his loving parents Antonio Pereira and Ana de Jesus Pacheco, Aunt Luisa Correia.

Joao along with his family emigrated to Canada on Aug 11th, 1990 and worked hard as a construction
worker until he retired. He was a devoted family man who did all he could with compassion, love and
care. He made lasting friendships from his years in construction, at the Portuguese club playing
dominos/cards and anyone new he met along the way.

We would like to thank everyone who has reached out to us as well as the doctors and nurses from the
St. Boniface hospital (Acute Cardiac Care Unit 5th floor) for their care and compassion given to our Dad.
