Obituary for Teresa Cayetano

Teresa Quinto Cayetano touched many lives during her 90 years here on earth. Her loving, compassionate and generous nature will be remembered long after her passing.

Teresa peacefully passed away at home on October 27, 2022 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is survived by her husband, Mariano Cayetano; her six children: Librada (Ricky) De Leon, Estelita (Arthur Trinidad) Cayetano, Dominador (Zenia) Cayetano, Teofilo (Josephine) Cayetano, Carmelita (Remigio) Capistrano and Aurelio (Cindy) Cayetano; her nine grandchildren: Clarice Joy, Leslie Anne, Monica, Annabelle, Diwa, Althea, Ariana, Aubrielle and Ashton; and five great-grandchildren: Maddox, Dominic, Enjae, Jaslene and Austin.

She was born on October 15, 1932 in the district of Macalong, Urdaneta, Pangasinan. In June 1950, she married the love of her life, Mariano Cayetano, and they immigrated from Philippines to Canada on November 1, 1990. Over the decades, they moved between Winnipeg and Toronto to be with their children and spent 72 wonderful years together.

Teresa loved to cook, bake, garden and sew. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and was a fashionista at heart, but she was most passionate about caring for her family. She showed unconditional love and taught us all so much with her words, wisdom and acts of kindness.

Although she will be deeply missed, we know how fortunate we are to have had so many years with her. We will honour her memory forever and cherish all of the moments we have shared.

Rest in paradise, Inang. We love you so much.
