Obituary for Clarence William Pogue

On October 7, 2022 Clarence passed away at River View Health Centre with family by his side.

Clarence Pogue was born on May 30th , 1933 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba to Ephraim Pogue and Alice Pogue (Crealock)
Clarence was the second child of three, brother to the late Barry Pogue, (Margaret, Helen) and sister of Beverley (Harold Britain).

Clarence spent his early years farming with his Father and Mother in the Municipality of North Norfolk. Dad raised his family with then wife Barbara Pogue and had two children, Douglas Pogue (partner Natalie Meeches) and Daphne Pogue (partner Barb Smith). Clarence continued on the family farm until 1985, when he sold the farm, moved to Winnipeg and
worked for Petro-Canada.

Clarence also is survived by one grand child Cody Pogue who resides in Halifax N.S. Clarence met Diane while living in Wpg and they were married in 1999. They spent their time together with many travels down to Ontario, California, Florida, B.C. and Clear Lake. Dad and Diane attended Country Fairs, Rodeos, and watching many Blue Jays games. Diane’ son
Stacey Yerlitz was predeceased four years ago.

In Clarence’s early years, he was very much a man of the land and loved his family farm. Many summers were spent with his brother and sister’s families down visiting the farm with their children. The farm was grain and cattle with a few chickens over the years, pigs and horses and many dogs and cats. Clarence spent much of his time sitting on many boards including the United Grain Growers, Odd Fellows, 4-H, and the United Church in MacGregor. He also enjoyed singing in the Barber Shop Choir, bowling, gardening and curling and was very proud of his 8 ender with his Lodge team.

Dad spent many days and weekends supporting his children driving and watching them play hockey and ringette and the many tournaments in softball and hardball. Many weekends were also spent camping and fishing with his family. Dad very much was a steward of the land and had passed that down to his children.

Thank you to the Riverview Health Centre 3 rd Floor staff for their excellent care, kindness, and support.

Cremation has taken place, no service will be held and interment to follow at a later date.
