Obituary for Rachel Noelle McDonald

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce that Rachel Noelle McDonald passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the St Pierre Jolys Hospital at the age of 44 years.

Rachel is survived by her father Douglas McDonald, her sisters Leah (Nick Reeder), Sarah (Ryan Horvath), nephew Zaiden, niece Ava, cousins Rebekah Schmulgen, Simon R., Gavin Gray, Lindsay Gray, Jessie-Lee Coggan, Christopher Coggan and Melanie Coggan as well as many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her mother Brenda McDonald.

Rachel was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the first of three girls to Doug and Brenda. She grew up in St Vital attending Darwin School followed by Dakota Collegiate.

Rachel was an avid snowboarder and went to Panorama for a season on the slopes. This is where her journey into the world of natural healing began and she started exploring and learning through books, events, seminars and travel.

This took her to a yoga and spirituality/wellness retreat. From here she moved to Montreal where she lived for almost 15 years. In Montreal she became a Thai yoga massage therapist working at a studio offering healing and wellness packages.
She worked in the natural health industry with various proprietors.

She found solace in nature coming back to Winnipeg often to be with family and spend days at the lake.
In 2020 she was invited to work in B.C with a harvesting company spending a season with them followed by a season harvesting fruit from different orchards.

In 2021 she went back to Montreal with the intention of returning to B.C permanently to pursue her dreams of living and creating a tiny home village. She wanted to have a mobile apothecary where she would share her healing knowledge.
In late spring Rachel returned to Winnipeg where she spent her last few months in comfort with family.

Rachel has an indomitable spirit, energetic force and love of life and nature. She is a magnetic force, people gravitated to her.

As Rachel is welcomed into this new journey of her life, please join us for a celebration of life. Funeral services will be held at the Mosaic Funeral Home at 1839 Inkster Blvd, Winnipeg MB on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10:00 am, a reception to follow. A private internment will take place at 2:00 pm at the St Vital Cemetery.

I am the daughter of Earth and Water,
And the nursling of the Sky;
I pass through the pores of the ocean and shores;
I change, but I cannot die.
