Obituary for Carlito David Espiritu

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, Carlito Espiritu at the age of 63. He gained his angel wings and found peace in God’s arms on January 6th, 2022.

Carlito will be greatly missed by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife, Jennifer of 34 years, his two daughters Jonacel (Jhet) and Janelle, his only granddaughter, Jelaya Arabella & his fur baby, Jolly. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Gloria (Jimmy), Estrella (Eddie), Tony (Saning), Larry (Tess), Reyna (Nestor), Armando (Ghina) & Marissa (Jimmy) along with numerous nieces & nephews from around the world.

Carlito was born on March 2nd, 1958 in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines to his parents Tomas & Epifania Espiritu, who he will be reunited in heaven. He permanently moved to Canada on September 14th, 1985 and a couple years later married the love of his life, Jenny and started a family, he had a career that he loved and he enjoyed his time creating unique masterpiece furnishings & renovations with his talented skills in carpentry, cooking delicious dishes, gardening, karaoke and being around family & friends. Carlito was very well known for his amazing cooking and he always brightened up the room because he loved to make people laugh with his jokes and funny stories.

He was also a loving family man that always put his family first. He always took great care of his wife, Jenny and was such a proud father of his two daughters Jonacel & Janelle. His life was completed when Jonacel and his son in law, Jhet delivered his one and only granddaughter, Jelaya Arabella, who he patiently waited for to be honoured as Lolo (Grandpa).

We would like to extend our heart felt gratitude towards the doctors, nurses & staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Centre for their 24 hour care and compassion. A special thank you to close family, friends & coworkers from Deer Lodge Centre & Riverside Lions for all their thoughts and prayers during this time including families who have travelled to be here to devote their love and support.

Lamay will be held on Thursday, January 13th & Friday, January 14th, 2022 from 5:00pm - 12:00am at Mosaic Funeral Home at 1839 Inkster Blvd. There will be a private mass for the family on Saturday January 15th at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church.
