Obituary for Glenda Golfo Nueca

On the 30th of November at 11:55 PM, Glenda Golfo Nueca, a loving wife to Jose Botor Nueca and mother to Jonel and Johan Nueca, took her last breath and passed away peacefully after almost a year of battling pancreatic cancer, at the age of 52 in St. Boniface Hospital.

Glenda was born on November 26, 1969, in the municipality of General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), Cavite Philippines, to Julian Andag Golfo and Remedios Romero Golfo. She is the second eldest child out of 5 children, following Girlie while preceding Ramelito, Giselle and Amie. Unfortunately, at a young age, they lost their father to an illness and with only their mother to provide for them, Glenda had to develop a sense of maturity and responsibility early on her life and became a second mother to her siblings.

Glenda likes to watch movies, sing karaoke, take care of plants, cook delicious food, dress up herself and her kids, and go outdoors. She also liked to play a variety of sports like volleyball, badminton and basketball. She dreams of one day travelling the world, donating to charities and giving back to people in need.

Glenda graduated with an accounting degree from the Philippine Women’s University. Although, she spent most of her career as a medical office worker at St. Dominic Hospital and later on, pursued her accounting career at their family business of Stress Away massage therapy as a treasurer. When her family moved to Canada, her first job was at Marshalls as a store associate and for almost 10 years of working there, she became a customer service coordinator.

Wherever her life takes her, Glenda’s jolly, energetic attitude is sure to make everyone around her comfortable and at ease be it her family, friends, co-workers and even strangers.

Glenda faced her illness in a strong and positive manner. She fought bravely until her very last day. She is now in a place with no pain, sorrow and suffering where she will forever be safe and at peace.
