Obituary for Mark Sebastian Real

Mark Sebastian Real
October 19, 2000 – March 7, 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Mark on March 7, 2021, in Winnipeg, at the age of 20 years.
Mark will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Nilo and Imee Real, his little sister, Priscila, grandfathers Tom Villanueva and Nestor Real, grandmother Myrna Villanueva, aunts and uncles Vangie (Richard), Maggie (Osborne), Richard (Jenny), Marivel, Ken (Ishna), cousins Ryan, Ella, Xyle, Xyrus, Allyah, Gab, Carla, Carlo, Arquiz, Arquin and his extended family and friends in Canada, the Philippines and USA. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Mila Real and his Number 1 fan, Papang Erning Legaspi.
It was on October 19, 2000 when Mark was born in Cavite, Philippines. He spent his happy early years there before his family moved to Winnipeg, Canada in November 2008. He never forgot where he came from. He knew he left his beloved Kakang Poy and many family members in Cavite who adored and loved him. He would sometimes talk of wanting to go back for a visit and his cravings for Filipino food.
In Winnipeg, Mark went to Principal Sparling for grade school then moved to Sargent Park School for Junior High. He graduated from Tech-Voc High School in 2019. Mark was a Cadet in the 2295 Royal Winnipeg Rifles Army Cadet Corps from 2015 to 2019. He was an awardee of the 2015-2016 Junior Top Shot Award and was an Expedition Instructor during the 2019 Summer Camp at Vernon, BC. Oh, how he looked so handsome in his cadet uniform!
Mark loved to hang out with his amazing friends. He had a passion and interest in cars…fast Subaru cars.
We will miss him dearly. We are comforted knowing that he touched the lives of so many even with such a short life. We continue to humbly ask for your prayers for the repose of his soul and for God to grant peace and mercy to his grieving family and friends.
Due to current public health orders, we can only accommodate a very limited number of people to attend the viewing and the Mass. Nilo and Imee are looking forward to a day after the pandemic is over when we can all safely gather for a celebration of Mark’s life.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
