Obituary for Concetta Rella (Nardiello)
Our loving mother, Concetta Rella (Nardiello), passed away at Grace Hospital, on February 18th 2021.
Concetta lived a rich and faithful life. She was born on February 28th, 1956 in Muro Lucano, Italy; a middle child of three, she spent her youth helping her mother tend to household responsibilities and caring for her siblings while her father was working as a construction laborer. These years in her life served to cultivate her admirable skills as a homemaker and a nurturing mother before moving to Canada in the summer of 1963.
Concetta met Angelo Rella and after a spanned courtship, she became a loving mother to Giuseppe Rella and Innocenza Alvarez.
Concetta was a loving mother and wife, a talented authentic Italian cook, an impeccable homemaker and a very skilled seamstress. But our mother was so much more: she was an incredibly strong-willed and strong-hearted, classy, elegant, religious lady who was always there for her family. Our mother worked very hard every single day to ensure her children were taken care of, food was in the fridge, and the kids were able to register in their sports of passion. Concetta always made sure her children had whatever they needed to seek their athletic interests and be a part of a team comradery.
Concetta had many loyal friends over her lifetime. She was a sociable, gracious woman who loved to entertain. She was an impressive mother, wife and friend to all.
Concetta was a proud woman with an unshakable devotion to her children and especially her prince of a grandchild: Giulian Salvatore Rella. Concetta was truly in her glory when the announcement of her second grandchild was on the way; coming in May of 2021.
Concetta cherished her family and unconditionally loved her two children Giuseppe Rella (Jaclyn) (Jaime-Lynne) and Innocenza Alvarez (Steven) (Mauricio). Concetta was blessed with one grandchild, Giulian Rella and one grandbaby on the way (May 2021). Her legacy lives on in each and every one of them.
Concetta is preceded in death by her Father Salvatore Nardiello, Mother Lucia Nardiello, she is survived by her husband Angelo Rella; Michael (Peggy) and Antonietta. She will be missed by her loving nieces and nephews, Lacey, Connor, Adriana (Chad), and Michael (Romanna).
Our memories of her will be cherished for as long as we breath the air of this earthly home.
Services will be held at on Thursday, February 25th 2021 when a limited number of family and friends will gather at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Father Sam. As directed by the Province of Manitoba and Bereavement Authority of Manitoba, the attendance of the funeral is restricted to 10 persons or less. Wearing of masks or face covering by everyone and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending the service at all times.
