Virgilio (Gil) Magsajo
April 30, 1954 – February 19, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virgilio (Gil) Magsajo on February 19, 2021 at the age of 66, after a long battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his mother Priscilla, the love of his life Rosa, son Michael Vincent (Ashley), daughter Valerie Rose, sisters Vilma (Cecilio), Virginia (Jun), Veneranda (Arnel), brother Jose Val (Imelda), and many nieces and nephews.
Gil was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, and a friend to many. He always prioritized the needs of his family and friends before himself, even during his most challenging moments. Gil was the life of the party; he lit up the room every time he walked in. His infectious smile and laughter brought warmth to all who witnessed it.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Dawe from CancerCare Manitoba for providing Gil the best treatments possible and the palliative staff at Riverview Health Centre for taking exceptional care of him during his final days.
Gil will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He put up a very good fight for a long time, but he now deserves his rest.
Due to the pandemic restrictions, the family will celebrate his life privately with immediate family and friends.
