It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Salvatore (Peppe) Curcio at the age of 67, after a battle with ALS. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Left to mourn are his wife Saveria, his children Maria (Johnny), Giovanni (Daniela), his grandchildren Luca and Sophia, his sister Natalina (Ercole), his mother in law Antonia and many other friends and relatives in Canada and Italy. Salvatore was preceded by his parents Giovanni and Maria, his father in law Francesco and his sister Rosina.
Salvatore was born on May 3, 1954 in Nocera, Terinese, Italy. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1973 where he married his wife of 47 years Saveria and started his family. Salvatore spent the majority of his career with Cara Operations. He loved to garden and spent many hours tending to his large gardens at home and at the cabin. He was known for making the best wine and Italian meats and he had a knack for knowing how to fix anything. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was always there to help out anyone who needed it. Salvatore had the kindest heart and always had a smile on his face. He will be lovingly remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
