Obituary for Crisanta Geronimo

Crisanta Geronimo
November 26, 1942 – October 12, 2020

Crisanta Geronimo, age 77, passed away on Thanksgiving morning, October 12, 2020. She was born on November 26, 1942 in Manila, Philippines to Arcadio and Remedios Geronimo and is the oldest of four sisters, Victoria “Mommy Oya” Felipe, Purita “Puring” Lopena and Anita “Ine” Lozada.
To her friends and coworkers, she is known as Cristy. To the rest of her family, she is simply known as Ate Santa. She is one who never misses an occasion whether it’s your first or fifth child’s baptism or birthday, your wedding, your baby or bridal shower, your housewarming, your 18th, 50th, 60th, or 80th birthday, you will always find our Ate Santa. She loved to be around people who make her laugh and smile. She is unforgettable and we are all going to miss her dearly and miss her funny ways.
She is survived by her three sisters, Oya and her children, Doris (Jimmy), Banjo (Cecil); Puring and her children, Elmer (Malou), Rommel (Che-Che), her adopted daughter Joy; Ine (Ramon) and their children Robert (April), Lloyd (Robyn) and Krystal (Peter); along with her many great nieces and nephews Vince, Abby, Jaicel, Jomar, Camille, Lawrence, Jethro, Patrixia, Zoe, Marcus, Vanessa, Lauren, Mia, Lily, Scarlett and Beatrix. She also leaves her countless cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
A big Thank You goes out to the staff of the Palliative Unit at Riverview Health Centre. They always made sure that our Ate Santa was comfortable and was properly looked after during her last days.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family is having a one night of “lamay” service with limited guests at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd, Winnipeg, MB R2X 1R3. It will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 16th and 17th, starting at 5pm until 12 midnight.
