Marcella Martha McDougall
January 2, 1944 – May 7, 2020
Our beloved mother, companion, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Marcella Martha McDougall passed away on May 7, 2020 after a courageous battle and lenthy illness. Marcey was predeceased by Douglas McDougall her husband of 28 years; her sister, Evangeline Stewart and her parents, Mary and Paul Dyda. Marcey is survived by her companion, Wayne Campbell; her son, Scott (Michelle); her daughter, Erin (Len); her beautiful grandchildren, Reese, Parker, Mason and Emily; her brother, Danny Dyda (Manda); her sister, Jackie McCoy; and several nieces and nephews.
Marcey was born January 2, 1944 in Canora, Saskatchewan and grew up in Fillmore, Saskatchewan until relocating to Winnipeg, Manitoba. After arriving in Winnipeg, Marcey began her 39-year career at Grace Hospital as a unit clerk and then as an administrative secretary for Psychiatric Ambulatory Services. Marcey loved the time she spent working at Grace Hospital and all the people she met over the years.
Outside of work, Marcey was a loyal Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets fan who held season tickets for both teams and would go with family members to the games. Marcey was a dedicated mother and grandmother to her grandchildren who she will always deeply cherish. Marcey always enjoyed catching up on peoples’ lives always asking how others were doing. Marcey loved keeping connected with her dear friends Barb, Kathleen, Tracy, Helen, Sandra, Debra and Kirk.
Marcey would like to express a special thanks to Wayne, her “rock” who walked this path with her. A thank-you goes to the ALS Society and their wonderful staff. The family would also like to express sincere graditude to Dr Robin McClure and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre for the care and support during Marcey's final days.
