Obituary for Rose Marie Lansard

It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rose Lansard. She passed away on March 15th, 2020 with her family by her side. Mom was born on November 26, 1936 in St-Geneviève, Manitoba. Growing up, she was a very hard worker around the house and on the farm. She later began working in Winnipeg at the Sanitarium. After several years at home, raising her five children, mom returned to the workforce as a homecare aid. She continued to spread her love and gentle care of others for many years. Mom was fortunate enough to enjoy several trips throughout the years, such as Europe, Vegas, Alaska, Philippines and a short stay in Hawaii. She also really enjoyed multiple trips across the boarder on her Casino trips. Mom loved playing games, making puzzles, Bingo and cooking. Mom also enjoyed canning relish, green tomato ketchup and beets (which she lovingly shared with her family). However, this small town girl loved nothing more than her family. She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother. How she enjoyed playing cards or marbles with her children and grandchildren and having coffee or lunch with friends. Mom was an amazing cook and enjoyed feeding her entire family. There were numerous casseroles, banana breads (made to order), cheesecakes and recipes hand delivered to our homes, just because she knew how much we enjoyed a certain dish. No one would go hungry on her watch.
Mom was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Claude, and her two sisters, Marie-Louise and Thérèse. Mom is survived by her brother Raymond and her sisters, Hélène, Léonie and Irène. Mom also leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Arthur, Georges (Julia), Lucie (Jim), Claudette (Robin) and Ginette (Rodney). And, of course her many grandchildren: Adrien (Jennifer), Martial, Jude (Danielle), Jasmine (Danny), Rick, Dan, Mélanie (Brent), Joel (Monty), Chelsea (Ryan), Gina (James), Rachelle (Ryan), Déric, Janelle and Josée. She also had several great-grandchildren: Jaden, Phoenix, Alyssa, Emma, Dallas, Crystal, Zoé, Georges, Dominic, Hunter, Nova and Annabelle.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to those who have reached out, especially during these unsettling times. Thank you to the staff at the Victoria Hospital and the Grace Hospice. Due to the pandemic going on at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Cancer Care.
