Manuel Neto
Peacefully, following a tragic accident, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on March 15th at Riverview Health Centre surrounded by his loving family at the age of 92. Manuel was predeceased by his parents, and his brother and sister. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, his wife of nearly 67 years, his children, their spouses, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous family members, friends, and "Snicks".
Arriving in Winnipeg in 1961, dad soon began working as a cement finisher with much of Winnipeg's skyline being touched by his capable hands. He was also proud of his role as one of the founding members of the Portuguese Association of Manitoba. Dad was a man of many talents and in his retirement he enjoyed many things, from tinkering in his yard, to barbecuing his sardines to perfection, and creating endless crossword puzzles. Despite all of this, nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by his family.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful staff at HSC SICU and Riverview Health Centre 3E for their compassionate care and support. A special thanks to Rev. Father Sam Argenziano for his comforting words during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
