Obituary for Robert Peter Newnam

ROBERT “BOB” PETER NEWNAM
APRIL 18, 1946 – FEBRUARY 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Newnam on February 10, 2020 at the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home at the age of 73.
He will be sadly and lovingly missed so very much by his wife of 47 years, Ann (nee Pointon); children Kathy (Patrik), Michael and Linda; his grandchildren, Roan, Jade, Nathan, Alicia, Charlie; great-grandchild Sydni; sisters Marj McGowan (Dave), Jean Glover, Pat Haydock and Pam Greenhalgh (Mark) and their families, and his extended family. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Newnam.
Born April 18, 1946 in Widnes, England, it was there that he met his love, Ann. They married in 1972 and soon after moved to Canada and eventually settled in Anola, Manitoba where they raised their children. He was proud of the life he made in Canada and was so happy when his Mum and Dad came over from England to visit. Bob worked at CN Railway for 31 years and after retiring in 2006 he settled nicely into retirement. Bob lead a simple life, he enjoyed spending time with Ann and their daily visits to Tim’s for coffee and many memories were made on their trips back to England to visit their families.
The family wishes to thank the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home staff and nurses for their care during Bob’s short time there.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Mosaic Funeral Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to Parkinson Canada at donate.parkinson.ca
