Obituary for Carolyn Doreen Olafson

Carolyn Doreen Olafson
November 17, 1944 – December 29, 2019
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Doreen Olafson
(nee MacLean). Carolyn died in her home on December 29, 2019 following an illness with pancreatic cancer. She was 75.
Carolyn was born on November 17, 1944 in Beausejour, MB.
Carolyn was full of fun and just a dash of mischief; she loved a good joke and a good story.
She was an avid gardener and we will enjoy the rock garden she so lovingly built at the lake, for many years to come. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Amma. She has left a legacy of love as she gave both her help and love readily and selflessly to all and was well loved in return. Her smile lit up the room and she truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Conrad; her son Leonard (Pat); her Granddaughter Brooke; Great grandson – “Amma’s little darling” Gunnar; and her furry boy ‘Byf’. We will miss you always!
She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Douglas and Muriel MacLean; her brother Jim and sister Linda.
Carolyn had many ‘furry kids’ (Schnauzers, she loved these pets greatly – Schnapps, Gypsy Lady, Eclipse/ ‘Baby’, Dancer, CasheO, we know they will be excited to reunite with her).
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Our family is very grateful for the excellent care & support received from Manitoba Cancer Care, the WRHA Palliative Care Program, and MAID. Therefore, we ask that in lieu of flowers, please provide donations to any of these programs.
