LEONILA GELI peacefully passed away at the age of 83 years old on October 19, 2019 at 3:00pm at Health Sciences Centre. Nanay Leoning will be greatly missed by her loving brother Estelito Papa, her sister Esmerada PLacido, children; Reynaldo (Tona), Noel (Lolit), Tina (Welo), Manny (Bhel), Ramil (Helen), Cecil (Ross) and Orlan (Edith); her 23 grandchildren; Sheenalynne (Paul), Jefferson, Ian (Rhianna), May (Gerald), Christian (Angelica), Arianne, Cassandra, Nicole, Shantelle, KC (Eman), Carlo (Hayley), Noreen, Paul, Dominique, Eldrin, Brian, Rachel, Lauren, Marykaye, Sharmaine, Patrick, Rj and Jiezel and her ten great-grandchildren; Kaleiya, Ethan, Eva, Cedric, Paulynne, Sarina, Greyson, Rhianne, Leonille, Adriel, and her daughter in-law Gilberta Geli (Arcelito- deceased).
She was predeceased by her parents, Federico and Nieves Papa, her husband, Hermogenes Geli, and her children Arnie, Hermogenes Jr and Arcelito. Nanay Leoning was born in Ususan, Taguig Philippines on January 17, 1936. Despite of hardships Nanay Leoning was able to provide good education to some of her children. Nanay Leoning has worked hard throughout her life in the Philippines. She worked as a sales agent of all kinds (TINDERA) from selling bbq intestine (bituka), cooked ulam, jewellery, land, house and lots and etc.. Nanay Leoning will be remembered for her kindness, understanding, her love for food especially for adobong itik and playing bingo.
Lamay/Viewing will commence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 and Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg, MB. Vigil Prayer will be held on both evenings at 7:00 pm
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St., Winnipeg, MB.
Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB.
