Obituary for Alberto Nasuti

Alberto “Bert” Nasuti
September 9th, 1955- September 7th, 2019

On September 7th, with family by his side, our amazing husband, father, brother, and friend passed away, unexpectedly but peacefully, at 63 years of age. He is predeceased by his parents Assunta and Paolo Nasuti. Bert will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Lori; his children Tammy (Matthew), Albert (Chelsea), and Robert (Joleen). He also leaves behind his brothers Armando (June), Mario (Debra), and sister Anna (Randy).

Bert was born September 9th, 1955 in Mozzagrogna, Italy. In 1958 Bert, along with his mother and siblings, immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. Bert first met his wife Lori in 1976 and they married later in 1980. Within a few years their family started to grow, and three children were born. He was especially proud of his children and loved being a father. While spending time with family and friends is what Bert valued most, he also enjoyed playing Bocce and pool, tinkering with computers and electronics, taking his dog Brody for car rides, and listening to music. For the majority of his career Bert worked with MTS, where he made many lasting and cherished friendships, so much so, that even in retirement he kept going back to the “office” for coffee. He will be forever remembered by his family and friends for his charm, humour, generosity, and his gentle soul.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences Centre, MICU/CCU and 5th Floor GA Unit for their care and kindness. The family also wishes to say thank you to Armando and June Nasuti, Leslie Lillico, Bill Phillips, Anne Mackenzie, Barb Melizza and Cheryl Troia for everything that they have done for the family during this time. Thank you as well to Darin Hoffman and Mosaic for taking care of Bert in this time.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, 3:00 p.m. at the Mosaic Event Centre located at 1006 Nairn Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5 in memory of our father.

You were always there when we needed you.
No task was too great or small.
With a loving heart and a willing hand.
For us you did it all.
