Mila Borruel Gainza
November 21, 1940 – August 27, 2019

Peacefully, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Mila Borruel Gainza passed into eternal rest on August 27, 2019 at the age of 78, Mila was born on November 21,1940 in Lobo Batangas to parents Emilio Borruel and Irene Abrahan. On January 1962, she married the love of her life Jesus (Jess) Gainza and were blessed with four children together daughters Maria Madiline( Madge) Gainza , Jemmylyn ( Gigi) Gainza, Joselito Juval ( Juval) Gainza and youngest Jacquiline (Jackie) Gainza. Mila was widowed at the age of 40. In 1995, she migrated to Winnipeg Canada and spent most of her time with her son Joselito Juval and his family. Mila as a loving mother and grandmother, continued to take good care of her young grandchildren in a new and foreign country. Her eldest daughter Maria Madiline (Madge) later joined them in Canada. Over the years, Mila came to enjoy life travelling on both countries, Canada and Philippines just to bond with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the extended family members. She was very generous making sure that all her loved ones has gifts( pasalubong ) in her balikbayan boxes every time she travels. Mila enjoyed spending time watching her favourite daytime soap opera, shopping, cooking and playing card games on weekends. Despite all these, Mila made praying her daily habit making sure she got fresh flowers for the altar. She was predeceased by her parents Emilio and Irene and sibling Leticia Gomez, Norma Cascalla, Armanda Aguirre, Rodolfo Borruel, and Eulogio Borruel and other extended family members. Mila has surviving siblings Buenaventura Borruel, Angelita Concepcion and Violeta Aguirre all based in Philippines. Mila was dearly loved by her siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Maria Madiline ( Madge) Gainza , Jemmylyn ( Gigi) Gainza Macarandang married to Emmanuel (Manny) Macarandang (deceased) , Joselito Juval (Juval) Gainza married to Margarita ( Mercy) Atienza and youngest Jacquiline ( Jackie) Gainza Dador married to Virgilio ( Vio) Dador. Mila will be remembered with love by her grandchildren, Hermenegildo (Nikko) Mandanas married to Leah Marisse Nartates , Francis Camille ( Kim) Macatlang married to Karl Alexis Macatlang, John Edward (Jambo) Macarandang with Gerlyn Matibag, Jhoan Kristel ( Eteng) Macarandang and Jhoan Kristine (Sosi) Macarandang, John Marco (Marco) Gainza , Abigail ( Abbey) Gainza, Jerico (Yco) Gainza and Ava M. Mila will be greatly missed by her great grandchildren Hermione (Juana), Laya Aniqa, George Jaiden (Jaiden), Klay Maxwell (Klay) and Kamilla (Kallie ).
Mila will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving, generous, strong, funny, selfless and caring person. She opened her heart for everyone. She enjoyed life to the fullest with her loved ones. Mila will be remembered as a beautiful soul and will greatly missed by those who knew her remains will have a viewing at Mosaic Funeral, 1389 Inkster Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Lamay/Vigil Prayers will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 . Lamay will commence at 6:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Father Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Rev. Father Boguslaw Wardzinski presiding.
