Pedro Mabbayad Gumpal
June 6, 1936 – AUGUST 20, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pedro Gumpal at the age of 83. He passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2019 at the Victoria General Hospital.
Pedro was born in the Philippines, to the late Fulgencio and Lucena Gumpal. He moved to Winnipeg in 1976 and worked in a battery factory.
Pedro leaves behind his son Rolando (Carrie), and grandsons, Gabriel and Rowan. He also leaves to mourn his loss: siblings, Eusta and Eliso. He was predeceased by his wife Isabel, and siblings: Juana, Pacita, Victor, Juanito, Ernesto and Celestiano.
The family would like to thank the staff involved in Pedro’s care at the Victoria General Hospital and Riverside Lions (supportive housing) for their care and compassion. A special thank you to following staff at Victoria General Hospital in the Urgent Care department: Manager of Patient Care Denise Patenaude, Social Worker Joanne Lysyk and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Carey Kuo. Also, a special thank you to the Tenant Services Manager at Riverside Lions, Elizabeth Pontanos.
Lamay/Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2019 commencing at 6:00p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd, Winnipeg, MB.
