Obituary for Roland Owen Williams

Roland Owen Williams
January 11, 1968 – July 24, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roland Owen Williams “Bubba” “Owen”, after an aggressive battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the age of 51, at the Riverview Health Centre, with his wife by his side.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Tracy (Byra) Williams, his sons, Zackary and Drew Williams, his daughter Ashley Williams, his mom Barbara Williams, brother Troy (Julie) Williams, sisters, Tracy Williams and Lori Buck, with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Roland Williams.
Owen was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Transcona. He had attended TCI and Kildonan East. Growing up Owen enjoyed playing hockey and football. Football was his sport of choice and he played from the early age until adult, where he then coached a few years. Owen lived and breathed football and had the privilege of teaching and coaching his children who were his life and joy. Owen worked for Ancast Industries for several years until he became a millwright. He later worked for local Union 1443 for several years till reaching his final employment at Malteurop Canada Ltd. Owen’s children meant the world to him, they were involved in hockey, ringette and football and you were always able to see Owen cheering them on at their sporting events.
Owen’s family would like to thank the countless people who cared for him; but also, the exceptional community of neighbors and close friends and family that contributed delicious meals, food, errands and unwavering moral support and love.
A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Nashville’s, 826 Regent Avenue West at 1:30 pm.
