Normelita Dela Isla Rongavilla, known as "Normie" to many of us, passed in peace on Saturday July 13th, 2019, at the age of 77 years. She was born on November 29th, 1941 in Parañaque, Phillipines.
Normie immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1968.
Normie is predeceased by her husband, Felimon, and will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Marie (Arsenio) dela Cruz and Phillip (Daiyana) Rongavilla. She will be missed by her three grandchildren, Carter, Kiara and Ronin.
She is survived by her siblings Leonora Miranda (Winnipeg) and Edwina (Rolando) Tentoco (Rhode Island, USA), Pepito Dela Isla (Philippines)
And their children Redan, April (Aaron) Onio, Angelique (Emmanuel) Debankah, Michael, Alexandra and Romar, Andrea, Gwen, Penelope and JP.
As well as numerous brother and sister in-laws, Fely Dela Cruz, Ellen Rongavilla, Cely(Lito) Gamboa, Marita (Fernan) Barrion, Anita (Edwin) Diones (predecesed), Resty(Gemma) Rongavilla, Rennie (Minda) Rongavilla, Ronnie(Neila)Rongavilla(predecesed),Ligaya Hernandez(predecesed),cousins, nephews and nieces in Winnipeg and the Phillipines
Normie was well known for her passion to cook, her love of family gatherings, playing cards with the in-laws and her excitement in watching her grand kids grow up playing the sport of basketball.
Lamay/Vigil Prayers will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Lamay will commence at 6:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Napolian Suvakin officiating.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St, Winnipeg with Rev. Father Napolian Suvakin presiding.
Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at 4000 Potage Ave., Winnipeg MB.
Reception will follow at Charlee's Restaurant, 185 Stadacona St. Winnipeg MB. R2L 0N2
