August 16, 1971 – June 3, 2019
Rocky Apolinario Certeza, at age 47 passed away at his home, peacefully and surrounded by those he loved on Monday, the 3rd of June, 2019. Born on the 16th of August, 1971 to Ester A. Certeza and Luis Certeza in Banaba, Binangonan, Rizal, in the Philippines. There, he grew up the second eldest of his seven siblings, Edwin, Edna, Randy, Sonia, Sheryl, Arnel, and Ricardo. Here, his father taught him how to play guitar as well as sparking his interest in mechanics, and music. Once Rocky graduated from Talim Barangay High School in 1988, he worked as an electrician and a seaman, until 1995 when he married his adoring wife Janeth Reves Certeza in 1996 he moved to Canada, where he raised his three beautiful children, Justin, Arjay, and Jheslyn, while studying automotive mechanics and technologies at Red River College, and finally graduating from The Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre in 2011. Rocky loved travelling with his family and he spent his days fishing and playing guitar for all of his many loving nieces and nephews, and close friends and family. He would never hesitate to help anyone in need, and will be loved from now and forever, the best brother, husband, and dad ever.
Lamay/Vigil Prayers will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Lamay will commence at 6:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Marcelino Bandico officiating.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 3597 Main St., West Saint Paul, MB R4A 4A7 with Rev. Father David Kowalski presiding.
