Obituary for Stanley Holyk

Stanley Holyk
September 27, 1934 – February 20, 2019

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, our dear husband, father, and Gigi continued his journey with the lord.
Stan was born on the family farm on September 27, 1934 in Springwell, MB. His younger years were spent working the family farm and cutting cordwood in the bush camps.
Years later, he began his lifelong career in the automotive industry, selling cars first, then onto repairs and finally management where he retired at the age of 58.
During retirement, Stan and Anne travelled extensively and enjoyed various activities together.
He met the love of his life while fishing at the Brokenhead river. They spent four years courting and were married for 62 wonderful years.
Above all their grandchildren were the love of their lives. Countless days and nights were spent together at Baba and Gigi’s house.
He is survived by his wife Anne, children Don (Carla), Sharon (Alan) and grandchildren Cole, Gage and Cody, brother Gordon, sister Irene and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother John.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at CancerCare, Concordia Hospital, Palliative Care and Homecare.
A special thank you to Dr. Chowdhury, Dr. Dawe and Dr. Caners.
