It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of David Owen Sykes on January 23, 2019.
David now peacefully rests with his loving wife Doreen. David is survived by sons; Robert (Terry) and Allan {Sandy), grandchildren; Jennifer (mother Debbie), Christin, Owen, and David. He was born in Winnipeg where he lived all of his life. After retiring early, David and Doreen were snowbirds for many years in Texas and other southern locations. He had a passion for fishing both home and away, and made many friends with this same passion. Summers were spent at the family cottage in Lac Du Bonnet both before and after retirement. David would often be the source for neighbors seeking handyman advice, and this gave him great satisfaction as he helped in any way he could. David was a kind, gentle soul that was liked and loved by everyone he met along life's path. His serving family and friends are deeply missing his smile and soft voice.
