Obituary for Soledad Carillo

Soledad Carillo
October 24, 1944 – October 25, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Soledad Balangatan Carillo on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre.

She was born on October 24, 1944 in San Juan, La Union, Philippines to Ignacio and Guadalupe Carillo, and was sixth of two brothers and six sisters.

In 1972, Soledad moved to Canada where she resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the remainder of her life. She first worked in the garments industry and later on trained and worked as a Health Care Aide for many years until her retirement at the Middle Church Home of Winnipeg in West St. Paul, Manitoba in 2008.

She was an amazing lady full of life, and a completely unselfish person. She always put the needs of others before her own. Her passion to please family and friends through her amazing cooking made her a very happy person. Soledad enjoyed travelling, and gardening during summer.

Soledad was predeceased by her parents, sister, Mary and brother Alfonso. Soledad will be sadly missed and leaves behind her sisters Milagros, Corazon, Conching and Pacita, brother Jose (Leoning) along with her nephews, nieces and many grand nephews and grandnieces.

Her remains will be cremated and will be brought to the Philippines where it will be interred at the family plot in Forest Lake Memorial Gardens in San Juan, La Union, Philippines.

Viewing/Lamay will commence at 6:00 PM and Vigil Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg, MB.
