Obituary for Edward James Kernaghan

Edward James Kernaghan ( Steady Eddy )
October 31, 1931 – April 1, 2018

On Monday April 1, 2018 a very dear brother, friend and uncle to many, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 86 years. Edward was born October 31, 1931 at Morden, Manitoba growing up and attending school at Cartwright, Manitoba, later moving to Winnipeg. He was employed at Manitoba Hydro retiring after 40 years of service.

He is predeceased by his parents Sam and Margaret, five brothers John, Robert, Milton, Raymond and Gordon; two Sisters Edith Trembath and Evelyn Kantor. He is survived by one Brother Leonard and sister-in-law Deanna; also sisters-in-law Margaret of Winnipeg and Nadia of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a loyal and faithful friend, and uncle to many; touching the lives of those too numerous to mention here.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Ed did not really retire after leaving the Hydro, he continued to a fuller extent his life long career in the public ministry which he treasured to the time of his death.
His firm faith sustained him during his illness and he is now sleeping awaiting Jesus promise of a resurrection (John 5:28, 29; Job 14:15; Revelation 21:3, 4 )
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 9, at 7:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1060 Wolever Avenue (Arlington Congregation) West Entrance with Mr. Anthony Markham presiding.
