Margaret Lynne Antoniuk (nee: Rempel)
July 12, 1951 – October 26, 2017
Daughter’s Log, Stardate 95420.9. My mother, Margaret Lynne Antoniuk (nee: Rempel), has died. Diagnosed with COPD, the disease slowly decayed her lungs to critical levels. Resistance was futile.
Through her life, Marge was capable of warp speeds and was an essential part of our federation, as a sister-ship to Irma Brown and Erica Ferchuk, as a mother-ship to Ellen (Wally) Kotula and Jennifer (Fortunato) Lim, as a gramma-ship to Kate and Anne Kotula and to Seraphina, Khalil, and Amelia Lim, and, as a life partner-ship to Frederick Antoniuk. These are the surviving fleet now at the front. Great adventures were often in search of her love for horses, cars, and fishing, taking her on many memorable adventures of which she was lucky to escape alive.
She once nearly broke through a frozen lake on a snowmobile. As a wee child, she dared to ride the farmer’s bull during breeding season. As a teen she loved drag racing the ‘68 Chevelle with Freddy by her side. Sixty-six times she flew around the sun. On her captain’s deck was Shamrock and Dewey her favourite horses, Kayla her favourite retriever, one-eyed Tom her favourite attack cat (Frederick’s former alarm clock), and Peanuts who was found hours from death and saved by my mom with a few sardines and a whole lot of love. There were no red shirts onboard. Her away ship, the ‘74 blue Lund broke the waves at Chesley’s, Brereton, the Bird River and Lake of the Woods. She often beamed down to the Crow Duck and the East Gammon and the whole fleet flew in formation to visit family and friends in faraway galaxies.
Appreciation to her onboard crew of heath care workers, homecare aides, nurses and doctors.
