Marla Rondeau I was unable to speak at the service because it was such a loss to me and my children. I wanted to say that there was never a better man then my dad, he loved everyone for the person that they were and did not judge. Anyone who knew my father would know he was always the life of the party so to speak, he left a lasting impression on everyone. He was a man full of love and had bads luck in it, but that never stopped him from continuing to show it. I moved him out to Saskatchewan to be close to his family, his son Darryl and his two girls, Patricia and Melissa, myself, his daughter, Marla and my two children, Michelle and Derrick. He was a great dad and an amazing Grandfather, we all miss him so very much and would like to thank everyone for attending his service. I hope that all who knew him remember him to keep his loving spirit alive. We love you dad grandpa forever, Marla, Michelle and Derrick.

We were both shocked and saddened to hear the news of Jason's passing. Our thought & prayers are with you all. We have many fond memories of Jason coming to our house teaching our daughter, Katelyn guitar lessons and then staying afterwards for a fun visit. He also came to visit us at our cabin and it was always so easy to laugh and talk with him. He was always so friendly, cheerful and comical too. He will truly be missed by us and many others who knew him as we did. God be with you all!

To the Family of Norm LadobrukMay 10th, 2010, 8:52 pm by Andrea Sutton
I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end He noted that first came her date of her birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read With your life’s actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash? I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Norm was a great man who was always good for a laugh. He will be greatly missed. Love Andrea Sutton

Dear Joe & Family, I was away for the weekend and words cannot express how sad I am to hear about the loss of my dear friend. On Nov.5, 1999 Michele gave me a friendship book for my birthday. The book is filled with uplifting thoughts, heartwarming verses and wise words. This gift will serve as a constant reminder of the brave and remarkable lady she was. Though words are meaningless at this time and cannot ease the pain you feel, I would like to tell you from the bottom of my heart that I am truly sorry for your loss. I will sadly miss her and she will always hold a special place in my heart. A friends' love will never fail, she'll stand beside you through thick and thin. Just because she loves you so. A friends' love can brighten your world like a ray of warm sunshine. Nowhere else will there ever be a friend quite like mine.

Such fond memories...Feb 7th, 2010, 10:27 am by Carla Lother
Dear Rosa, Lena and Reno...My bedroom window overlooked your back yard all the years of my childhood. It seemed that every time I peeped out, there was some kind of fabulous event happening in the beautifully manicured back end of 678 Brock! I hopped the fence between our homes many times to join you for dinner. I can still smell that sauce! Silvio's homemade wine arrived at our house every Christmas, Rosa would tweak the hem of my clothes (sorry mom, but you were not a gifted seamstress) Lena and I had lots of laughs as kids and you were all so completely welcoming to me in your cozy home. I have such special, fond memories of your family and will treasure them always. I send you my heartfelt sympathy from a distance - but with much love. Yours, Carla Lother

To those who loved MafaldaJan 6th, 2010, 6:58 pm by Susie Neves-Sousa
To those who loved Mafalda I wish to express my deepest condolences. I remember Mafalda as a strong spirited, admirable girl who knew exactly what she wanted. I often thought about her in the years since we graduated from junior high school and hoped that life would treat her well and that she could overcome any difficulties which might come her way. Her greatest success, and I speak from my own personal experience, was to have found a wonderful and supportive husband. My deepest and most heartfelt sadness for your loss Paul. To Mafalda's extended family.....my deepest condolences as well. You will all be in my prayers. May Mafalda Rest in Peace in the company of Our Lord.

The Brisson family sends all our thoughts and prayers. We always refered to Eva as Ma Tante Eva and she will always be remembered with a beautiful smile and a deep belly laugh that was contagious. My Mother deeply regrets that she will not be able to attend as she is out of province. When I informed her she immediately cried out " She was like a sister to me". So on behalf of all our family, our deepest condolences. We love you all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. We send love and have fond memories of Arn skiing in BC. Whenever we hit the slopes at Silver Star (Arn & our favourite hill) Apex or anywhere there is shooshing to be had. Of course we need gruel for fuel. If Arn had not encourgaed me I would not be skiing today, Mindy. We will always have a toast on the Hills for Arn. His zeal for life and sport was evident as he was up at 6 am getting his pre-ski exercises done - thump thump thump we would hear! He was an inspiration and we will never forget him. Dear Mrs. Taylor, My deepest sympathies to you and the family on Arnie's passing. I was a student of Arnie's and played football for the Tec-Voc Hornets in 1962 with Arnie as the head coach. Arnie taught me a lot about life and helped me get to where I wanted to go. He congratulated me when I signed with the Bombers in 1968 & 1970. I will never forget him as he made a big impact on my life. I only regret not being able to hook up with Arnie at a ski hill as we shared the same passion for skiing and talked about it before I moved to B.C. in 2003. I wish I could be there for you on the 10th. Sincerely, Wade Christensen, Port Moody, B.C.

It has been about 15 years since James and I were together, but the memories are strong. We worked together at Settebello, and his audacious wit, humor and ability to push beyond boundaries kept me constantly laughing. He was larger than life, and passionate. He was my friend in the ways that matter most. He was generous beyond belief, yet would be excited to spend a morning driving from one shop to another in the north end picking up bargains. And, how he loved the people in his world; his whole body at times exuded just how much he loved.....there was a joyfulness about it. My heart has remembered him many times in the last week, and shall continue to. My thoughts are with you, the family.....how he loved you all. Cheryl Vermette Mise Restaurant

Dear Warren and entire Shewchuk family, I am so sad to learn of the passing of your beloved father, husband, and grandfather. Remember all the smiles, laughter and good times you shared with your wonderful dad. Although it must be painful to have had him taken away from you too soon, try to take some comfort in knowing that he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I am sorry I was not able to be at the funeral today, but I was thinking of you Warren. Take care.

Jeanette and Family....Just like everyone else I was shocked when I heard of Steve's passing...I knew Steve from the good old "North-End" days and later on in our career's when we were both on the same shift in Dist. # 6.....You could always count on Steve to be there for you when the going got tough.....As well we were teammates on the Fighting 13 and Hitmen baseball teams in the Wpg Police Slowpitch League....Steve could pound that ball a mile - he was a helluva ball player and helped us to win several championships....I also remember Steve coming along with us on a few hockey road trips as a cheerleader....We sure had some laughs as well as a few drinks....Steve was truly one of the good guys and I'm going to miss him.....Please accept my condolences....You are in my thoughts and prayers.....Sincerely, Tony.

It is with great sadness that I must have to write in this column. I was a WPS officer for 23 years retiring just recently. Steve was one of my partners in St James and again in the North End. He was a true freind through some of the toughest times in my personal life. He lifted me up and helped when I was truly at my lowest, and he asked nothing in return. I will never forget Steve, the world is at a loss greater than all that is occuring right now, it just doesnt know it yet. I will see you again my freind. To the family in this tragic time, be strong in the knowledge he left the world a much better place by his being here, and he is sure to make the place he is going even better.

Jeannete and family, I would like to express my sincere condolences at such a sad time. I worked with Steve occasionally as both a uniform and plain clothes officer in the old North End station, and then as a fellow team member with the Emergency Response Unit. Steve was a solid guy who you always knew had your back in any situation, He had an easy dispostion and was liked by all. "Concrete" was a nickname he was known by, with reference to his physical stature, and he lived up to that moniker I believe in all ways in his family life as well. From all the officers who knew and worked with Steve, he will be greatly missed. Dave Shipman.

My condolences to your family during this difficult time. I am friends with Kevin, and though I don't see him much any more, I think back to those times at the Shindak house and always remember the great relationship Nick had with his family. Laughter, a good argument about the news of the day, and playful ribbing were mainstays around Nick, and that alone is a great legacy left by him. I know you will mourn, but I'm sure a great party is also in the cards! Mike

With great empathy we send our condolences. I have also recently been down this path and understand how difficult this road can be. It is important to know that you are in the thoughts of those who care, and wish you well, and that you are never alone, take care.

Miss Me – But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free: Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone, Its part of the Masters plan, A step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me - but let me go.

In case he didn't tell you, I stopped by to visit him at SBGH the day before I left for Nfld. He was pretty tired post dialysis naturally. When the River East School Division almalgomated with Transcona, I was a secretary at Murdoch Mackay Collegiate. As the Transcona side did things a lot differently than River East, I had to make many, many calls for clarification. Lorraine was one of my "go to" girls and I have to tell you that I sometimes made as many as 3-4 calls a day to her. Not once was she ever impatient or less than helpful. Although I don't think I ever met Lorraine in person, I have always held her in the highest esteem because of all the help she so willingly gave me!! My heart and thoughts go out to all of you. She will be sorely missed. Sincerely, Judy Hall (Quail)

Dear Susan, We were so saddened to hear that Donna had passed away. Words can not express the sorrow that one feels when a loved one dies. I (Linda) lived upstairs from her shop from 1980-1983, before she bought the building and renovated. She was always great to be around and had a great sense of humour. I will miss her laugh. We all entrusted her with haircuts as well. I looked forward to our chats, catching up on things and philosophizing on life. She was a wonderful woman and we will miss her.

My heart goes out to you guys on the loss of your dad. He was a special guy who always had a way of making me feel special and important. I remember when I was about 14 and was going through a rough time I was at the end of myself and your dad who knew nothing of what I was going through came up to me and told me I was a very beautiful little girl and told me to not let anyone or anything bring me down. He told me to keep after what I believed in and to not give up no matter what. I always remember that time and I will never forget your dad's words. I know your dad was so proud of the two of you. Hang in there guys.

Our heartfelt condolences to your family. We have known Sam for 35 years and beyond, back to his R.B. Russell days. We don't think that there are too many hairstylists that can boast to have cut 4 generations of hair for one family. We've always considered Sam a wonderful friend who was always there to listen, laugh and offer advice. He will definitely be missed. Sincerely, Marshall & Laya Kneller and family Kyle, Carol & Alex Kneller

Dear Darlene, Melissa, Michelle and familyAug 26th, 2007, 7:15 pm by Kimberley, Daniel, Christian & Nathalie Massaroni
We were so sad to hear about Sam's passing. We have been reflecting on the wonderful warmth that Sam exuded ... Nathalie fondly recalls his greetings of "Hello Princess", Christian happily remembers Sam always speaking Italian to him, and Dan and I cherish the memory of a man who talked about living his life with "an attitude of gratitude". Our thoughts and prayers are with his lovely wife, two beautiful daughters and their families. As we are out of town, we will sadly be missing Sam's service and regret that we cannot pay our respects at that time to his family. Please know that you are all in our hearts.
