Anthony Chic
May 6, 1934 - August 21, 2017

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Anthony Chic announces his passing at the age of 83 on August 21, 2017.
Anthony is survived by his wife Katie of 53 years, sons Randall (Jeanette) and Daniel, daughter Cindy, granddaughter Kylie and beloved cat Buddy ("Bugsy"). Also left to mourn are sister-in-law Mary (Abe) Hiebert, their children Shelly (Doug) Beesley, Melody Hiebert, Bradley (Kathy) Hiebert and Kurt Hiebert, great nieces Kayla, Cassandra and Emily and great nephew Matthew. Anthony is predeceased by his parents Mary and William and in-laws Marion and Nellie Drozda.
Anthony was born in Meleb, Manitoba on May 6, 1934. He moved to Winnipeg in the 1950's and he met his wife Katie in 1961, marrying the love of his life in June 1963. Tony and Katie lived in Winnipeg for most of their years together, raising their children and spending time together in their years of retirement.

Anthony worked for Regal Furniture and Manufacturing for 38 years as an Upholsterer and made most of the furniture in the family and children's homes. He also recovered many car seats and furniture pieces and sewed many custom covers for anything that needed to be protected. Anthony was the "fix-it" man for everyone in the family and enjoyed helping and making life easier for those around him. He could always be counted on and would never let you down. Anthony loved teaching his children how to take on home renovations, fix vehicles and anything else that was broken. He also loved to visit the country and spend time gardening in the backyard.
Anthony loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his beloved grandchild Kylie. He always welcomed family to the home and loved having everyone together at the table to enjoy a meal, especially during holidays.
Anthony will live on forever in the hearts of his family. Although he will be dearly missed, he has left countless cherished memories and a much everlasting love to the lives that he touched.
Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 7:00 pm. from Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Rev. Father Doug LeClair officiating.
Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at the St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 590 Alverstone St. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM, Rev. Father Doug LeClair officiating, reception to follow in the church basement.
Cremation will follow the funeral liturgy as per Anthony’s wishes and an interment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date.
If friends so desire in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society
