I met the Trapp family in 1965 in the month of June, we just moved to Brooklands from the north end. Rae and I became best friends and I soon learned she had little sisters. I was the youngest of my family so it was keen to me to be a big sister in the Trapp family. I had never been around little children and Heather was so full of life always playing and laughing. I remember her as such a happy little girl.
I never seen her cry and she always had a smile from ear to ear. Heather loved being around us as I found out soon enough that is what wee ones do they follow you every were. Life was simple back in those days kids laughed and played in the yard for hours and I felt I was a Trapp. I remeber those hot days when Mr. Trapp re: DAD would be watering his garden and splash all of us with the hose. The wee ones would laugh and screem for joy and Heather loved that game. Mrs.Trapp re: MOM would cut watermelon and everyone would receive a nice thick slice, hands would be pretty sticky, thank God for dads garden hose. Oh those lazy days of summer if one could only turn back the hands of time.
Life got busy for all of us, as we know time waits for no one. Knowing the love the Trapp family showed me, I know Heathers children and grandchildren were blessed. Having a mother and grandmother who was showen love from such a early age will always stand the test of time. I am sorry she will not be around to share her love any longer.
It is with the deepest sadness that I type this she will be missed, but her memory will live on in the ones who were lucky enough to know her. May all of us find peace in knowing she will be welcomed with opened arms by her loving father, grandmother and brother inlaw.
Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, Still missed and very dear.
Rest In Peace little sister
Love always sister Sandy xoxoxo
